Testing sign-up and confirmation emails
Last updated: 29 October 2026.
When you build a sign-up flow, you need to see the emails it sends: the welcome message, the confirmation link, the password reset. A fresh inbox for each run keeps those tests separate from your own mail.
What 1hemail.com is good for
- Manual testing. Create an address, sign up, and read the result within seconds.
- Checking the real message. The formatted view shows your HTML email as recipients will see it, with remote images blocked until you choose Show images. Download the original as an .eml file to inspect headers and MIME parts.
- Attachments. Invoices, tickets and calendar files up to 5 MB can be downloaded and checked.
- Testing on a phone. Use Open on phone to read the same inbox on a mobile device and check how links behave there.
Limits to know about
- Three new inboxes per hour from one IP address.
- Each inbox lasts 60 minutes and shows up to 30 recent messages.
- There is no API yet, so 1hemail.com suits manual checks rather than automated test suites. For automated end-to-end tests, a service with an API and private test domains is a better fit.
- The service receives mail only. Replying and forwarding are not available yet.
Good practice
Send test mail only to addresses you created. Avoid putting real customer data into test messages, because anyone with an inbox link can read it until it expires.
